Core Principle: We believe in transparency. Professionals have the right to review and respond to feedback before it's published, while reviewers maintain their privacy if they choose anonymity.
What We Moderate
All user-generated content on Ratemy is subject to moderation, including:
- Professional reviews and ratings
- Professional responses to reviews
- Comments on reviews
- Profile information and descriptions
- Job postings and descriptions
Review Moderation Process
Step 1: Automated Pre-Screening
All reviews are automatically screened using AI moderation for:
- Personal Identifiable Information (PII): Phone numbers, addresses, social security numbers
- Toxic Language: Hate speech, harassment, threats, extreme profanity
- Spam Patterns: Repeated content, promotional links, fake reviews
⚠️ Automatic Rejection: Reviews with PII or severe toxicity are automatically rejected and returned to the reviewer for editing before professional notification.
Step 2: Professional Consent
After passing automated screening, professionals receive notifications of new reviews and can:
- Approve: Review is published immediately
- Request Revision: Reviewer can edit before publication
- Dispute: Professional can contest factual inaccuracies or policy violations
Auto-Publish Rule: If a professional doesn't respond within 7 days, reviews are automatically published to prevent censorship.
Step 3: Dispute Resolution
When a professional disputes a review, our moderation team reviews:
- Factual accuracy of claims
- Compliance with community guidelines
- Supporting evidence from both parties
Resolution Timeline: Disputes are typically resolved within 3-5 business days.
Prohibited Content
The following types of content are strictly prohibited and will be removed:
🚫 Personal Information
- Phone numbers, addresses, or other contact information
- Social security numbers or government IDs
- Financial account information
- Medical records or health information
🚫 Hate Speech & Harassment
- Content that attacks individuals based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Threats of violence or harm
- Doxxing or encouraging harassment
- Sexual harassment or unwanted sexual content
🚫 Spam & Manipulation
- Fake reviews or reviews written by the professional themselves
- Coordinated review campaigns
- Commercial solicitation or advertising
- Repeated submission of identical or near-identical content
🚫 Illegal Content
- Copyright infringement or intellectual property violations
- Content promoting illegal activities
- Child endangerment or exploitation
- Confidential or proprietary information
🚫 False Information
- Reviews about professionals the reviewer never worked with
- Demonstrably false factual claims
- Impersonation of another person or professional
Enforcement Actions
Violations of our content policy may result in:
First Violation
- Content removal
- Warning notification
- Required review of community guidelines
Second Violation
- Content removal
- Temporary suspension (7-30 days)
- Restriction on posting new content
Severe or Repeated Violations
- Permanent account termination
- IP ban for severe cases (harassment, illegal content)
- Legal action if warranted
Appeals Process
If your content was removed or your account was suspended, you may appeal by:
- Emailing appeals@www.ratingapp.net with the subject "Content Appeal"
- Include your account email and the content ID (if available)
- Explain why you believe the decision was incorrect
- Provide any supporting evidence
Response Time: Appeals are typically reviewed within 5 business days. Decisions on appeals are final.
Skip-Level Review Special Rules
Reviews from multiple layers below a manager (e.g., reports of reports) have additional protections:
- Anonymity Enforcement: Reviewers' identities are never disclosed
- Pattern Detection: Individual reviews aren't published until we have 5+ skip-level reviews to prevent identification
- Aggregate Display: Skip-level scores are shown as aggregates only
Transparency Commitment
We publish quarterly transparency reports detailing:
- Total number of reviews submitted
- Number of reviews flagged by AI moderation
- Number of professional disputes filed
- Dispute resolution outcomes
- Account suspensions and terminations
- Average moderation response times
